True to My Word. ^_^;....

It's been two weeks since I painted Julian, so here's my next doll. Meet Lucretia:

I used that new RestoreDoll sky blue hair to root her, side-part with straight-across bangs. The hair's finer than NDR hair and a little hard to work with, but it's still saran, and the color is beautiful!

Her bangs are very thick. I would have liked to feather them more to show her eyebrows (the focal point of a person's expression, after all)but it didn't work out. ^o^ I usually never give my dolls green eyes (and they actually are green, not blue-green like they appear in the photo). Not for any particular reason, but I always find myself drawn to purple, blue, red and pink. Hm.

Very humid and yecky today. I could use a glass of water, but I'm too lethargic to move.

Thank you! I love that hair color too. Blue has always been my favorite color, and I was very excited when I saw a new shade of blue saran. ^^

Thank you ^_^! The A-type head that comes with the Volks bodies seems to be getting smaller and smaller. I had a hard time figuring out what to do with this doll.

She looks so pretty! The combination of eye color and hair really make her face "pop!" You need to paint a doll as well with lips, I want to see what that looks like too. I like dolls like this but I am always fond of the ones with room for lips!

Thank you ^_^!

I agree with you about the lips. The Volks A-type head has such a tiny mouth, not much you can do there...

I'm interested in finding more realistic head molds, but the only time I used one of those and was satisfied was when I repainted a Takara Moe a long time ago. NDR needs to make more Takara heads available to customizers! o_o

She's pretty! :D
And you are so good at rooting! Do you have the pattern for this hair style that I can look at, i.e. with straight across bangs? I tried and it doesn't look right...@_____@

Thank you ^_^!

It took me a couple of tries to get the straight-across bangs right. I'll see what I can do about visual aids (I think I can find a spare head to draw the pattern on in pen and take a picture of it to show you.) I find the secret is to start rooting the part about a quarter inch back from the hair line (instead of at the hair line) and add an extra row of close-together plugs between the hairline and the beginning of the part. That probably doesn't make sense without a picture, though! ^___^;...

I am in awe of your rooting and painting abilities.
So, so pretty! The sky blue looks wonderful with the eyes, too.

Thank you ^_^!

I still have a lot to learn, though! Last week I completely ruined a head I was working on by rooting too much hair in it. No matter now long you work at this, there will always be times when you completely eff something up. ^o^
