It's Snowing Again.

It came as quite a surprise. :D White-out conditions! :D

I haven't posted in a little while, I know. I didn't know what to say. I've been mostly keeping to myself and working on my SD sweater. I have one sleeve and the collar left to finish. Knitting can be such a nice, peaceful thing to do but I think I've been neglecting everything else!

My stomach's been all icky lately. O_o I haven't studied Japanese for over a week but I guess playing RPGs in the language counts?

I haven't had much to read lately, and I decided to start through The Chronicles of Narnia again. This would be my third time through the whole set, though for a while the only book I had was The Silver Chair and I read that an extra time before I bought the boxed set. Ah, sweet memories! For some reason, when I was a kid I couldn't stand those books but now I could read them over and over till the end of time. ^o^ I heard they were planning on making a movie of the series, and...that Nicole Kidman was being considered for the role of the White Witch. Say it isn't so! ;_;

I'm still working on Final Fantasy V. I gave up the ghost with Gilgame, because apparently he's not a Summon and he has more hit points than the last boss. Ha. I've been wanting to play FFIV lately because it is SO much better than V and full of wonderful memories but that just ain't gonna happen right now. Discipline! I have a bad habit of starting things and never finishing them. Right now, all I wanna do in my spare time is work on my sweater. ^_^;...

Why do I always have to chase down feelings of nostalgia? Sometimes I feel like there's more fun to looking backward than forward.

Ohh! Chronicles of Narnia! Never read it but always wanted too. Hopefully they will make the movie AFTER I get the chance to read it unlike LOTR series. I am like the only nerd that hasn't read them all. I know about keeping to yourself, been doing that too lately. Maybe it's the weather. Though it's hardly the same in MO as it is in CA so I must be wrong. And this was rather quotable in my opinion:

"Sometimes I feel like there's more fun to looking backward than forward."

You genius you!

I really don't want Nicole Kidman as Jadis...I hope she turns it down or that it all falls through or something. She's just not what I pictured the witch to be...

I think she's too girlish and skinny to play Jadis. Isn't Jadis supposed to be a frightening but splendid beauty? I don't think Nicole Kidman looks like she could throw a lamp-post at anyone.

yeah, she is this huge over powering figure with a fierce beauty and pride. I think if Kidman got the part not only would she not look the part but she wouldn't act it right either. I could totally see her overacting. But then again I am biased and have never been a fan of her work. Still they could do so much better then Kidman...

Well, I think Nicole has the face, but I don't know if she will fit that character as a whole. Isn't the witch supposed to have a long, black mane, as far as I remember?

I used to look backward, but not anymore. I keep my favorite things from the past intact and try to look ahead, because otherwise I get lost easily.

I don't know what color hair the witch was supposed to have. ^_^;....I dunno if it was ever mentioned.

The book describes her as tall and"wild-looking" and I think Nicole looks too delicate. ^_^;...

I usually don't worry about being lost in the past because I have a very short attention span. I figure that if past things give me joy it'll probably be brief! ^o^

I thought she had long black hair too...that's how I always pictured her. I don't remember whether that's cause it's mentioned in the books or whether I came up with that look. Anyway, I agree that Kidman can have a really snotty, cold look when she wants to...as far as facial expressions she might do ok. But I don't think she can act the part...

Maybe it is the influence of the book cover(s) or the movies.
