BAROQUE "baroque" my hand. ;_;

Yeah, I hate puns too.

Over the weekend I actually managed to clear a "chapter" in BAROQUE. I played for about four hours a day (hey, it's easy to lose track of time when you're trying not to die in the Nerve Tower!) and now my hands hurt. A lot. I can't blame it entirely on BAROQUE, because I initially started to feel pain with SO3. Up until a few weeks ago, I hadn't played video games much at all. Now I really need to take a break. Maybe it wouldn't stop some people, but I don't want to have to have surgery because I can't stop playing video games! O_O If I didn't have to use the analog all the time....but nowadays all games call for the analog...

So I'm trying to occupy myself with other things tonight. We'll be bringing home Lucas on the 28th and I still have some cleaning I need to do. The breeder said we should feed him Royal Canin Kitten Food until he's a year old and then switch to their Maine Coon formula. Even though he's a Ragdoll. I guess it's specially designed for huge cats! ::laughs::

I threw out a ton of stuff I found in my closet, mostly old school notebooks and some wanky diaries from my first year of college. In one of them I had written down some of the worst poetry I've ever seen in my life. I don't think I've ever written a good poem, but these were special; just ornate words strung together with no meaning whatsoever. Oh well. Creative Writing classes usually teach poetry first because it's easier to manage than prose in a timed lesson but it's much harder to write! I'd post some of the bad poems for laughs but I don't see how I can without losing my self-respect. :O

I'm noticing too many similarities between my recent entries and Kristen's. My gut reaction is to be offended when people who don't know us in real life accuse of us being one person with a split personality, but we do tend to talk about the same things! We share a lot of the same interests, like writing, knitting and Japanese. But there is one big difference between us. I'm obsessed with Kate Bush, and Kristen isn't! :O

Yeah...uh...I started bemoaning my track record as a poet, and then I remember that I don't have a great track record with prose, either. I don't think I'm an awful writer, but I don't have a huge body of work to my name other than a handful of short stories and what I'm working on right now. I remember this time, though, when Biscuit's Club was having a writing contest, and I got it into my head to write a 48-page story about Jenny Friend Abel. I'm sure I made an ass of myself, but it was one of the only stories I'd written at that point that had a proper beginning and ending. I had a copy saved in my e-mail account, and I read it over tonight. I found myself smiling to myself as I did. I don't think it was a bad story at all. Even if the characters were Jenny dolls (I don't know if that counted as fan fiction, because Takara supplied them with minimal personalities) it seemed natural to me. I remember being happy when I wrote it. So there! I found one story that I wrote that I'm satisfied with! I'm trying to stay in that mindset as I work on my current project. I wrote that Abel story after I had completed my college education, so maybe that's why it wasn't that bad....
