Falling out of love, falling into love...

Alas, poor Evelyn has not been doing well this year.

After her glorious first flush, she came down with a bad case of blackspot, and even though she's now recovering the flowers she's been producing have been less than stellar. Obviously I have no intention of getting rid of her, but for a while I had been contemplating getting a second plant and trying it out in a different spot. As of this morning, I'm wondering if there's a point to obsessing over one blackspot-susceptible rose when I have quite a few that are doing much better.

Take Claire Austin here, for example.

Of our Austins, this girl, Crown Princess Margareta and Heritage are doing the best. I'm finding myself falling deeper in love with Claire Austin with her luminous lemon-white flowers. She looks a lot like a white version of Heritage, doesn't she?
