What was I saying?

I have a new flower to share, after all. This is my favorite of the daylilies. It's a shame it doesn't spread like the orange and yellow varieties!

I'm sad to report that a lady cardinal tore out two of my sunflower seedlings this morning. I am so pissed....those sunflowers were the healthiest plants I had. Gardening can be such struggle sometimes. I'm glad I'm not living off this! If the birds keep it up the only annuals I'm going to have left are the ones that I'm growing in pots. =_=

I haven't been keeping up with responding to posts lately because I've been kind of freaked out by the weather. I had been warming myself up for the big event yesterday (if you follow certain weather resources, you can tell when you're in for a "treat" with particularly bad storms), and while my area didn't get much more than a few borderline severe storms, Bridgeport sustained heavy damage from a tornado. It turned out to only be an EF-1, but in a heavily populated area that can do quite a bit of damage. Every time I think I'm overreacting about summer severe weather, something like this happens! At least there were no casualties...

You live and learn, I guess. I have a lot of birds pecking at my yard at all times. I'm probably going to have to do something weird like drape bird-netting over my flower beds until the plants get too big to steal.

It's too bad, because I do like cardinals a lot!
